1. Order processing:

When ordering a commissioned piece of artwork, you will be given an estimated completion date before payment is taken. Please note, although highly unlikely, completion time of portrait(s) may take longer than the estimate as each portrait is hand drawn to the highest level of detail and won't be rushed.

Original artwork & print sales will be processed & shipped within 2-5 working days of completion

2. Packaging:

Artworks & prints are packaged flat to ensure flatness of the paper. Artworks will be protected with glassine paper, placed in either an archival plastic sleeve or wrapped in acid-free tissue paper. This is then padded with either foam board and/or cardboard to ensure a safe transit. I aim to make my packaging as recyclable & eco friendly as possible while still protecting your artwork during transit.

Presentation gift packaging for commissions is available at an extra cost.

3. Payment:

Payments are securely made through my website’s checkout. You may use a credit or debit card – these payments are processed via Stripe (https://wix.com/about/privacy). You may also securely pay via PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/legalhub-full) – please note that if you are paying via PayPal, I am only able to send orders once the payment has completed.

Commissions: Once we have selected a reference photo for the project, I will send you the invoice to pay the 50% deposit for the portrait via email containing the link my website’s checkout. Upon completion & once you have approved of the final result, I will send you an invoice to pay for the remaining 50% cost of the portrait + the shipping cost via email with a link to my website’s checkout.

4. Shipping:

All orders are shipped from the UK via Royal Mail 1st Class Special delivery.

Commissions: UK shipping is free for all small orders with a £10 charge on sizes above 40 cm in length. International shipping is via FedEx & ranges from £15-£50 depending on size & location. Each portrait is sent with tracking info and may require a signature upon delivery.

Prints: UK shipping is Free, International shipping is via UPS & ranges from £10-£40 depending on size & location. Each print is sent with tracking info.

5. Address & delivery:

All orders larger than 40 cm in length within the UK and all orders of any size internationally are sent via FedEx. For this, you must supply me with your mobile phone number as they require it for recipients.

Please make sure to double check the given delivery address before purchasing. If you notice it is incorrect, please email me ASAP with the correction (matthunterartist@hotmail.com). If the items have already been sent with the incorrect address then I will not be able to alter it to the correct address.

If the artwork was sent but unclaimed and then returned to me, I am happy to re-send the artwork however the buyer will have to front the cost of shipping it again.

Please contact me immediately at if the artwork(s) have arrived damaged or if you have not received it 2 weeks after the estimated delivery date.

6. Returns & refunds:

Commissions:

Deposit: If the deposit has been made and the portrait has not been started, I will offer a full refund. If I have started / completed the sketch, I will offer you a refund worth the amount you paid minus £50.00, this is due to the paper becoming unusable for other projects once the composition sketch has been drawn on, plus the time spent on it.

Final payment: Due to the nature of custom personalised artwork, commissioned portrait sales are final and cannot be refunded if work has already started or been completed.

Originals, Prints & Other:

If you are unhappy with your purchase and seek a refund, a full refund may be processed, but only once the item is shipped back and received undamaged. Cost of return shipping is at the buyer’s expense. In the unfortunate and highly unlikely case of a damaged product, please contact me immediately to see if resolutions can be made.

7. Liabilities:

For purchases made from outside of the UK, any additional custom & tax fees that may occur when the package reaches your country are the responsibility of the buyer. These charges will vary depending on where you are located. I shall not be responsible for any of these fees.

8. Prices:

I reserve the right to determine the price for any of my art products. Product prices and shipping costs are subject to change at any time. If you have already placed your deposit for a commission you will pay the original quoted cost as agreed.

9. Artwork accuracy:

As a result of having different screens across devices, the colours may vary of the artwork or prints to how you view it on your own device.

For pastel artworks that have a colour background, portraits come with a blank border a few millimetres thick on each side where the paper was taped to my desk, this also makes it possible to pick the drawing up without disturbing / touching any of the pastel itself. Please keep in mind that this will very slightly reduce the portrait size when coming to choose a picture mount for your frame. Professional framers should be able to factor this in.

Due to the nature of original pastel artwork, there may be slight visible blemishes on the paper – all measures are taken to reduce this as much as possible.

Actual paper sizes may be slightly larger or smaller than the chosen size on any side due to having to custom cut the paper from large sheets.

10. Changes to completed commission:

Once the final touches to your commissioned artwork are being made, you will receive a high quality photo (proof) to confirm your satisfaction. If you wish to have any details or aspects of the artwork changed, I am more than happy to do so within reason. If you require a significant change, this will incur an extra charge. Please note that I may not be able to make some significant changes once the artwork is completed due to the nature of the materials.

11. Framing:

I am happy to arrange framing services for your portrait. This will incur an extra charge. Contact me to discuss this option for your portrait.

12. Copyright information:

The artist retains all copyright of the finished artwork. The finished artwork may be used by the client for display and personal enjoyment only. No prints or copies shall be made, or profit gained in any way, from the finished artwork by the client, without the express written permission of the artist.

The artist retains the right to use the image for advertising artistic services, through printed adverts (e.g. flyers) and digital/social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram) The artist retains the right to use the image on printed products (e.g. greetings cards, prints and other merchandise) where appropriate.

13. Data protection

I will need to collect the following information: client’s name, email and address. This will be used for commission correspondence, invoices and delivery of product. The client's name will be stored to keep track of orders. Once the client receives the artwork, any photographs provided for the commission will be deleted.

14. Final provisions:

• By ordering any of these products, you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.

• By placing an order, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old or have parents’ permission.

• Shipping costs and payment fees are recognised before purchase.

• All customs taxes are a responsibility of the customer.

• Commissions may be recorded, documented and posted on my website & social media sites.

• These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time.
